Catalog Another countryside - A designed living environment in the countryside.

An exhibition that highlights projects, voices and issues that refine and develop rural areas today.

For a long time, the countryside has been described as stagnant. At the same time, many development projects are underway here, where businesses, places and housing are emerging. Initiative where groups together create a sustainable, creative and social life in their area. Today's countryside cannot be easily defined, but emerges as a multifaceted environment where each place is unique and has special conditions.

By highlighting various current initiatives in southern Sweden, the exhibition wants to create an understanding of how, and with what means and results, you can work with local planning and development today. At the same time, the exhibition raises the question of whether the city is really the answer to sustainable development, and whether local solutions can provide answers to global problems.

The exhibition is complemented by a public program that builds on the conversation that began during the screening at Rian in Falkenberg. The idea of ​​the public program is to, as an open forum, spread, share and deepen the issue of designed living environment in the countryside.

The exhibition is produced by Rian design museum , where it was shown in spring 2020, in collaboration with the architect Angelica Åkerman, with support from ARQ - Foundation for Architecture Research.
