Selected in Syd 2021 is an exhibition that wants to show the scope and development of craft-driven creation within today's form field: all forms and expressions are included here, from traditional crafts and utility objects to the free and conceptual. Vänvalt wants to encourage work that manages craftsmanship but likes to exceed traditional boundaries of expression and technique.

The opportunity to apply was given to those with a connection to one of the southern counties; Skåne, Blekinge, Halland, Kronoberg, Kalmar or Jönköping counties. The person would either be born in, fully or partially reside in, or study/have studied in the area at post-secondary level.

The jury for 2021, Katarina Evans, Mikael Löfström and Cilla Robach, all have solid experience in the fields of arts and crafts, crafts and design, and they have all taken an interest in issues related to the work of the hand regarding quality, development and context in different ways and from different perspectives.

The applicants are presented anonymously to the jury, which means that professionals and amateurs meet side by side. The selected ones will be presented in connection with the opening of the exhibition on June 16, 2021.
